The Morning Cup - Sunday July 26th
Here are the biggest news stories from when you were sleeping last night

Good Morning/Afternoon All! Happy Sunday! I am starting to get into the midterm mindspace. What do I mean?

Democrats officially launch the final 100-day push to the midterms
House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries is kicking off the final 100 days before Election Day with a campaign centered on affordability, lowering costs, health care, and protecting Social Security and Medicare. Expect Democrats to spend this week trying to shift the conversation away from Trump’s agenda and toward kitchen-table issues.
Hopefully some progressive victories can help push the “future speaker” to listen to more of his caucus. Right now he is making me VERY nervous as a leader.
Republicans are facing signs of voter enthusiasm problems (haha)
Multiple reports this weekend suggest GOP strategists are growing concerned that Republican voters aren’t as energized as expected heading into November, despite holding the White House. Polling and internal discussions reportedly show weaker enthusiasm among parts of the Republican base.
From a personal perspective, I can see what they are saying. Right now MAGA seems bored. It is going to be really interesting to see who comes out to vote this november when Trump is not on the ballot.
WHERE THE HELL IS Mitch McConnell?
Questions continue to grow after Mitch McConnell has now been absent from the Senate for nearly six weeks following his fall.
His office has released very little information, fueling speculation, though there is still no confirmed explanation beyond previous statements.
I think he is either in a coma, or unresponsive. Think what you will, but when they give us absolutely zero information on the man, we are allowed to make speculations.
Voting rights remain a major legal battleground
A federal appeals court has rejected an effort by the Trump administration to revive restrictions on mail voting across 23 states, leaving an injunction in place for now.
Yay! A win for democracy.
It is funny to me how Trump keeps spewing his winning message when he keeps getting destroyed in court. Over and over.
Good times!
